Regan McGrath is the Founding Partner and CEO of Metrics where she has grown the firm into a national leader in digital assets. Regan started working and investing in crypto in 2016 and has been in love with the industry ever since.

Regan brings over 10 years experience working in financial strategy with small investment funds and high growth companies, ranging from startups to large scale bitcoin mining projects and publicly traded companies on global exchanges.  She also works internally within the firm at the intersection of digital assets, tax, accounting and finance to research and influence policies in today’s uncharted technical, taxation and regulatory frameworks.

Regan holds her Bachelor of Arts from McGill University, CPA CA from the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, her Certification in Fintech and the Future of Commerce (which largely focused on blockchain innovation) and her Certification in Applied Business Analytics from MIT Sloan School of Management. She is also a published writer and an educator on topics of blockchain, crypto taxation and the future of work including frequent presentations for CPA associations and other professional organizations.

Regan currently sits as second Vice-Chair for CPABC Board of Directors, leads of the Taxation Committee for the Canadian Bitcoin Consortium, and is a contributing member of the Web3 Council.  Outside the office you can find Regan having fun with her family.

Kyle Mackenzie is a Partner and the head of Digital Asset Tax at Metrics.

First dabbling in crypto in 2016, Kyle earned his CPA designation in 2017, and has since been deep into the digital asset space both professionally and personally. Kyle deals with individual and corporate clients in the blockchain and cryptocurrency industries guiding clients on tax strategy, investigating on-chain transactions, and instructing clients on tax strategy that can benefit their portfolios.

As a blockchain and cryptocurrency advisor and educator, Kyle is a frequent speaker and writer for business and professional associations across Canada, including the Toronto Stock Exchange and CPA BC. His publications include the cover story for CPA BC magazine on cryptocurrency, as well as several tax guides on cryptocurrency. You’ll also frequently find posts on Canada’s bitcoin subreddit advising the public on crypto tax treatment.

As a crypto native, Kyle talks the talk and walks the walk when it comes to crypto. Complicated on-chain transactions, centralized exchanges, leverage and micro-caps, Kyle has seen it all.  If you have complicated crypto activity and need to sort out your tax obligations, Kyle will be the one to do it.

When not in the office, (or maybe even when in the office – being digital, we work anywhere!), you’ll find him out on the ocean, sailing.

Sean Annable is the Financial Reporting and Compliance Partner at Metrics.  

Sean’s comprehensive tax and accounting knowledge allows him to help clients from all industries, and to help our crypto clients with financial statement and tax advisory beyond their digital assets. Sean's specialty is working with small business clients to untangle complex issues in a way clients can feel confident and included in the process.

Sean also leads our CPA Pre-Approved Mentorship Program to ensure our students can speak crypto, and are well-trained and well-supported in the CPA Articling program.

When he’s not crunching numbers, Sean enjoys staying active in the cryptocurrency community and attending industry events. Otherwise he'll be noodling on the guitar, or in the yard adding to his already out of control garden.

Raj is a Digital Asset Tax Partner at Metrics where he works on providing personal and corporate tax advisory for digital assets. He has been working and investing in crypto since 2020 and is an expert in analysis of on-chain activity.  

Raj works every day with centralized trading activity, decentralized transactions, minting, staking and other related crypto activity. He assesses transactions and explains them to clients in an easy to understand way. He manages the crypto department, overseeing complex calculations on a day to day basis.

Raj also contributes to the firm's ongoing research, policy and education initiatives and leads mentorship of students in our crypto department, teaching them the ways of the digital asset ecosystem.

Rod is Senior Manager in Tax and Assurance at Metrics. As a crypto investor and enthusiast, Rod acts as the liaison between our Crypto and Compliance teams, and particularly enjoys the amazing alt-coin stories clients bring our way. With over 10 years of experience as a CPA, Rod has extensive public accounting experience working in the areas of tax, compliance and assurance for privately-owned corporations.  He holds a BBA with an accounting major and obtained his CA designation in 2014 (now CPA).

Rod takes great pride in providing succinct and accurate advice to clients as they navigate the complexities of the Income Tax Act and is dedicated to providing excellent client service.

When not at his desk, Rod has a passion for travel and has backpacked many different countries over the years. He takes advantage of his Advanced PADI certification while abroad with highlights such as diving with whale sharks, night dives with manta rays, and a little bit too close of an encounter with a tiger shark!

Ryan is a Manager in Tax and Compliance at Metrics.  He began his articling with Metrics in 2019 and was immediately recognized for his ability crush through accounting and tax datasets with impressive accuracy and speed.

Ryan's experience has focused on accounting and taxation for Real Estate Development including planning and execution of projects involving complex transactions. Since obtaining his CPA designation, he is pivoting to focus on in-depth tax including a focus on digital assets.

Ryan graduated with a BA in Economics and Psychology from McGill University, followed by a BBA in Accounting from Camosun College. Ryan enrolled in the CPA program in 2020 and passed the Common Final Examination (CFE) in 2023. He was welcomed onto the Metrics management team in 2024.

In his down time, find him on the soccer field or running along Dallas Road.

Jordan is an Associate in the crypto department at Metrics. He started working with crypto in 2023, his first year with the firm, and with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics from the University of Victoria, he leverages his skills to provide data analysis, trade reconciliations, wallet reconciliations and tax planning for digital asset clients.

Jordan is dedicated to delivering top-notch service and contributing to the success of clients in navigating the complexities of cryptocurrency taxation. To keep up with the industry Jordan participates in industry events and trades his own portfolio.

Jordan is pursuing his CPA designation and is currently a first year articling student in the CPA Professional Education Program. His analytical mindset and friendly demeanour make him an invaluable asset to the Metrics team.

Outside of work, you will often find Jordan engaging in various physical activities. In addition to hitting the weights, Jordan enjoys participating in sports like dodgeball, where he showcases his competitive spirit and team player mentality.

Michelle is an Associate in the Tax & Compliance department at Metrics CPA, where she works primarily in corporate tax. She holds a degree in Biochemistry from University of Victoria and came to accounting through an interest in quantitative analysis and a preference for work that translates data into real-world decisions.

Prior to joining Metrics CPA, Michelle worked at the Canada Revenue Agency in the Excise Tax department, where she developed a grounding in audit, tax legislation, and compliance. In 2024, she began pursuing her CPA designation at Metrics, with hopes of broadening her experience and knowledge in accounting and financial reporting beyond the government compliance setting. She is on track to write the CFE in fall 2026.

Colin is a Junior Associate at Metrics, working with both the tax department for personal tax preparation, and with the consulting team providing financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, modelling and forecasting, cap table compilation, in depth industry analysis, and working on financial strategy for small and large companies.

Colin is currently pursuing his CPA designation and is entering the CPA Professional Education Program in 2026.  He is a dynamic and versatile professional with a degree in Economics from the University of Victoria, and a passion for numbers. He leverages his education and experience to provide valuable financial insights and strategic guidance to clients.

Charles is an Associate at Metrics, where he works with the corporate tax team, supporting corporate income tax and GST filings.

Charles has also contributed internally by developing automation tools that streamline repetitive aspects of financial model development, improving efficiency and consistency across engagements.

Charles graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting.

Outside of work, Charles enjoys free diving and spearfishing, mountain biking, skiing and programming.

Liam is a Associate at Metrics. He works with the personal tax team, preparing personal tax returns, and with the cryptocurrency taxation team, sorting, reconciling, and classifying data for high transaction volume digital asset portfolios.

Liam entered the world of crypto in 2023 and enjoys exploring the different protocols deployed on smart contracts that arise in the space and the tax implication that can occur from using them.

Liam graduated from the University of Victoria with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics in 2023. His main interests are fluid dynamics, differential equations, and their applications to the real world. He is currently working his way through the CPA PEP program and expects to write the CFE in 2028.

When not working at Metrics or studying for an upcoming exam, Liam enjoys playing basketball with his friends and hitting the weights to stay active, as well as study different ideas in finances to stay up to date in those fields.

Chris is an Junior Associate at Metrics CPA. As a member of the Compliance team, Chris prepares T2 corporate tax returns, GST filings, and T1 adjustments for a variety of clients. Since joining Metrics in the summer of 2025, he has enjoyed expanding his knowledge of tax compliance and working with businesses across a range of industries.

Chris graduated from the University of Victoria's Gustavson School of Business in 2023 with a specialization in Entrepreneurship. Outside of accounting, Chris has an interest in current events, history, and finance, with a particular focus on investing and portfolio management. He has completed the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and enjoys following financial markets and economic developments.

Chris is on track to begin the CPA Professional Education Program in the fall of 2026. In his free time, he enjoys playing sports, staying active in the gym, researching topics of interest, and taking on DIY projects.

Johnny is an Junior Associate at Metrics CPA, working across both the Compliance and Crypto teams. He completed a BBA followed by a Post Degree Diploma in Accounting from Camosun College, and is currently entering the CPA Professional Education Program through CPAWSB.

His interest in digital assets extends well beyond the office. Johnny actively follows crypto markets and develops quantitative investment frameworks. Outside of work, he plays basketball, is training for a half marathon, enjoys reading, and can often be found with his cat Juno.

Johnny was drawn to Metrics for its reputation as a leader in a rapidly evolving area of the profession. The complexity and analytical demands of digital asset accounting presented exactly the kind of challenge he was looking for in starting his career.

Christopher is a junior associate at Metrics. He holds a BA in Mathematics and Statistics and a BA Honours in Applied Economics from Queen’s University, where he was a two-sport varsity athlete in Football and Track and Field.

With a career spanning roles as a Financial Analyst, Insurance Adjuster, and Film Production Co-ordinator, Christopher brings a unique, multidisciplinary perspective to the firm. He specializes in creative problem solving, leveraging his background in complex logistics to find resourceful solutions for client files. Christopher is dedicated to developing lasting relationships with clients based on trust, rapport, and integrity.

A diamond-handed crypto enthusiast, he is enamored with the intersection of traditional business strategy and digital finance. In his spare time, he can be found golfing with his toddler, coaching young sprinters, or writing his latest screenplay.

Chelsea is the Head of Operations at Metrics. With an Economics Degree from UVic, she gravitated towards Metrics to flex her business skills and streamline operations, ensuring we run like a well-oiled machine.

Chelsea is actively engaged with business process automation and client service excellence and uses her professional development in AI and automation to iterate and improve processes for staff and clients alike. She is a fantastic team leader and team player, encouraging everyone to do their best while keeping everyone aligned, on time and on budget.

A former UVic varsity athlete, Chelsea is still involved in the local field hockey community in her spare time.

Oliver is an integral part of the Metrics operations team and will likely be your first point of contact, navigating you through our onboarding process and helping you export crypto CSV reports.

Originally from the UK, Oliver made the decision to relocate to Canada in 2018. With a diverse background in film, photography and hospitality, he embarked on a new adventure in 2021 by joining the accounting industry and finding his place at Metrics.

With his meticulous approach and diverse skillset, Oliver excels at client communication and record-keeping, ensuring every detail is accounted for. He also works directly with our CEO to execute marketing and website projects, and is beloved for his composition and delivery of the most fantastic market update known to man at our team meeting every Monday morning.

Outside of work, Oliver enjoys travel, fitness, good coffee and sharpening his Japanese knives.
