The Firm

Metrics Chartered Accounting is a digital accounting firm founded in Victoria, BC. Operating across Canada using an entirely web-based, paperless service, Metrics is designed to help forward-thinking business owners and individuals take advantage of the freedom and ease of online services. The Job

Position – Student Accounting Assistant

Term – 3 months with extension for successful candidates

Hours – 20-30 per week

Anticipated Start Date – July 3, 2018

This term will be eligible for work experience requirements through ACCT 499, and can lead to a co-op position in September to satisfy BUS 101 or 201 for Camosun Students. UVic students seeking the CPA designation after graduation are also encouraged to apply. Historically, all students hired for this role have been offered CPA articling positions at our firm.

The responsibilities include bookkeeping and assisting CPAs, CPA students, and other duties appropriate for a beginner staff member. Everyone on our team contributes to our recommendations for software and improved client efficiencies, so you’ll be relied on for your opinion there, too.

We are a young, thriving firm.  This job has a lot of growth potential. Successful students are eligible for a full-time articling role within our pre-approved CPA training program.

All training is done onsite in our Victoria office, but successful team members can plan their schedule to be as flexible as you like- so long as you get your work done. We run the firm like this because we want everyone to enjoy their work and their life, and only want people working when they are most efficient.

The Skills

  • You are pursuing your accounting designation (at any stage of the process);

The Pay

Pay commensurate with experience and competitive in the industry.
